Biography

At the 1976 Olympics, Liudmyla Aksenova won bronze in the 4x400 and was eliminated in the semi-finals of the 400. Besides her Olympic bronze, she won golds in the 4x1 lap and 4x2 laps relay at the 1971 European Indoor Championships, and the 4x2 laps relay at the 1975 European Indoor Championships. Aksenova also won bronze at the 1977 World Cup with the Soviet 4x400 relay team, and won her only Soviet title in 1976 in the 400, also winning 400 and 4x400 bronzes at the 1971 Soviet Championships and 400 bronze at the 1974 Soviet Championships.
