Paulus af Uhr's high jump record was rather spotty. In 1914, after producing a new national record, clearing 1.884, he was a favored to win at the Baltic Games, yet ended fourth. However, later that season he won the high jump in the national match against Hungary, defeating well known Hungarian jumper [Jenő Gáspár]. His victories also included a win in a city match, af Uhr beating the favourite, [Karl-Axel Kullerstrand], in 1913.
Af Uhr, whose family belonged to the local nobility, made a career in the Air Force, becoming a major general. In 1918 he crash landed, the plane penetrating the wall of a hangar, but luckily af Uhr escaped without being seriously hurt.
Personal Best\: HJ – 1.884 (1914).
