Play Index.
For many of the Play Index searches, we've added an option that allows you to filter the results by whether the team won the WS, the Pennant or even just made the playoffs. Enjoy.

We've added a number of new features to the site for those of you that are interested in player awards:
- Voting Results for Awards (going back to the 1923-24 season)
- NHL Stars of the Week and Month
- Links to awards from the player stat lines.
Voting Results for Awards
To see the voting results for an individual year, you can either go to the main awards index, or you can go to an individual award page and click on the Season that you want the voting results for.
NHL Stars of the Week and Month
On the main awards index, you can find links to the NHL Three Stars Awards going back to the 2009-10 season. These awards took the place of the previous NHL Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week/Month awards:
Awards on Player Stat Lines
Finally, we've added links on the yearly stat lines to all of the player awards to make them easier to find. For example, this is what Wayne Gretzky's stat line looks like:
As always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions on these new features.

This morning we added new school statistics tables for seasons going back to 1997-98. In fact, we added four tables - one for school stats, one for opponent stats, and corresponding tables with advanced metrics like Pace, 3-Pt Attempt Rate, and Turnover Percentage.
This data was available previously - on our school season pages - but this provides the easiest way to see all 351 D-I schools in one place and with easily sortable fields, so you can find the top 3-point shooting school (Creighton - .421), or the school that's forced the most opponent turnovers (VCU - 541) - all with a single click.
You can get to these new tables by clicking on the 'Stats' link when you're in the Seasons subsection of our site...
Otherwise, you can find them by using the dropdown menu under 'schools' - where you'll find four rows with links to past seasons - or by mousing over the 'seasons' link and clicking on 'School Stats'.

We've added head-to-head results to the team season pages that allow you to see how a team did against each other team in the league. It also provides a link to the Team Game Finder with all of those games selected.
To use it, go to a team season page and click "Head-to-Head Results" on the menu:
To see the individual games, click on the last column next to the team you are interested in:
As always, we welcome your feedback.

Today we added a shooting stats table to all of our player pages. The data goes back to the 2000-01 season and will be updated daily during the current season, as well.
The main features include a breakdown of field-goal attempts by type (2P, 3P) and distance (0-3, 3-10, etc.) so you can easily see how often a player gets to the rim, or tends to settle for low-efficiency two point attempts. As an example, Lebron is getting to the rim on 40% of his attempts this season, his highest percentage ever. He's also taking fewer than 20% of his shots from 16+ feet and inside the 3-point line.
We also added the % of each field goal type that is assisted, as well as totals for dunks, corners 3s, and heaves (which we define as beyond half-court). DeAndre Jordan is currently out-dunking Dwight Howard 167 to 148 - over 80% of Jordan's shot attempts are within 3 feet of the basket.
Another extreme case is PJ Tucker, who takes over 85% of his 3-pt attempts from the corner, which you can see on our player shooting charts...

To supplement our full historical index of conferences, we've added an interactive map of the conferences so that you can easily see how they've come and gone, realigned, and grown over the years.
You can find this by mousing over 'conferences' on the main menu, or you can find a link at the top of our conference index page.

We recently enhanced our Basketball Reference team gamelogs to show more and better information, including basic rate statistics like FG%, 3P%, and FT%. We've also added advanced team gamelogs per the recommendation of users. These include offensive rating and defensive ratings, and rate stats such as 3-Pt Attempt Rate, Total Rebound %, and also the Four Factors (eFG%, TOV%, DRB%, FT/FGA) for offense and defense.
Click over to our College Basketball site and you'll find the same features. Notice that team gamelogs are new to our college site, and we've made them available going back to the 2010-2011 season (including the advanced versions)
For Basketball Reference, we hope you enjoy some advanced features that we've enabled, too. As always, you can share or embed the table by clicking on the red text and following the simple instructions, but here are a couple extra tricks...
- Click on the red game number to get cumulative team stats as of that date:
- Click on one row, and then another, to get the team's per-game statistics for all games in that range:

Though we've been quietly updating these data sets for several weeks, consider this our formal announcement of 2014 play-by-play and shooting data. You can find this data in several places on our site. For example, our boxscores now include links for play logs, shot charts, and plus minus summaries. You can find these links on our game boxscores, right below the scoring summary and four factors...
Several play-by-play features are found on our player pages, including detailed shot charts and shooting splits, statistical summaries for all lineup combinations, and on-off summaries. We've also updated our advanced play-by-play tables on the player pages, where you can find plus-minus per 100 figures as well as detailed scoring and turnover statistics. To find the shot charts and other features, go to a player page and find the menu that looks like this...
Most importantly, we're updating our Play Index+ database daily, so that you can take advantage of our powerful search tools to find, for example, all steals by Michael Carter Williams, or all the players with game-winning, buzzer-beating dunks.

You may have noticed some new stats tables on our college basketball site. We recently added conference-only statistics for players and teams, which you can find on both player pages and on our team season pages. We've made these available going back to the 2010-2011 season. And be sure to check out the conference rankings on the team pages, so you can easily find out, for example, why Virginia has 9 wins in ACC play - part of the reason is efficient shooting (2nd - FG%) and strong defense (1st - Opp Pts/G), limiting opponents to a 38.4 FG%.
Who's been the most dominant D-I player in conference play this season? That distinction might go to Billy Baron, who's doing a little bit of everything for Canisius, scoring 25+ points per game and shooting 44.4% on 3-pointers so far against MAAC opponents.
