Clicking the link below will download a csv (actually tab-delimited) file (suitable for Excel) that contains decade-by-decade records for teams when they enter an inning with a lead of 1 to 6+ runs (about 400 lines).
http://tmp.bbref.com/record-with-leads-of-x.csv
Feel free to use it however you wish, but a cite and a link to Baseball-Reference are always appreciated. RetroSheet data was used in the preparation of this doc.
For example, here are the team W-L% holding a lead of one run going into the 9th.
1940s 9 1 623 0.8604 1950s 9 1 2324 0.8515 1960s 9 1 3470 0.8559 1970s 9 1 4254 0.8618 1980s 9 1 4169 0.8638 1990s 9 1 4306 0.8511 2000s 9 1 4574 0.8566 2010s 9 1 1535 0.8612

Today, we're happy to announce the addition of a new dataset -- a pronunciation guide for the names of roughly 1,800 Major and Minor-League ballplayers from throughout history (mainly active players and guys from the 2000s, but a number of historical notables are in there as well). We've pulled this info from a number of different sources, so as always, please email us if you have any corrections or additions you'd like to see.
Also as a matter of note, we added master pages for player nicknames, name notes (aliases, name changes, etc.), and we finally linked the list of Twitter handles on the Frivolities page. Enjoy!

2013 Major League Baseball New Debuts - Baseball-Reference.com.
We've always had a list of the players who debuted in a particular year, but I just added a biographical table to go along with the batting, pitching and manager tables that gives very detailed biographical information for every player to debut in a season. This data includes: how signed, age on debut, link to debut game, height, weight, bats, throws, place of birth and given name.
To get to this page, go to the league front page and mouse over the "Other" menu option and click on "New Debuts".

1972 Boston Red Sox Batting, Pitching, & Fielding Statistics - Baseball-Reference.com.
It's a small thing, but if you go down to the team batting stats now, you'll see a line for the team total, the non-pitcher batting stats and the batting stats for the pitchers. The stats here are grouped by the player's primary position for the year. So if a pitcher played a bit in the field, we'll still include all of his stats in the Pitcher Total line.

With the regular season winding down this week, here is a reminder about Basketball-Reference's automatic linking tool, which makes it very easy for you to add links to a player's BBR page from your blog posts or news stories. The BBR Linker is a javascript bookmarklet that has a couple of interesting applications:
Please see the linker page for full instructions and some areas to test the bookmarklet.
By itself this feature is pretty handy, but if you are a site owner you may want something in return for linking to Tim Duncan's or LaMarcus Aldridge's BBR page from your blog posts. We agree, so we have added a feature to return the link back to you.
Those stories are used to populate the "Player News" section just above the player's stats. If you are a blog owner or author, you can use our linker to automatically have your articles added to relevant player pages. If you tag your player names with links to our site — and we can find those links in your RSS feed — we will add a link to your article on the player's page. For example, this Hickory-High post is currently the first link in Tony Allen's newsfeed.
Please read this description of the service for complete details, including the information that we need from you before you can start to see your content linked from the BBR player pages.

Royals 40-man Roster / Royals Payroll
I've added current (as of 5am each morning) 40-man rosters to the team-year pages, and I've also added new pages for Payroll and Uniform numbers. These tables aren't new, but I've split them off by themselves to make things a bit more clear since they can vary by what year you are looking at.
See the image below for the location of the links.

Just like on the player pages, we have a newsfeed and injury report for each MLB team on their 2013 team pages.
It appears just above their batting stats. See the screenshot below for details.
