Updated Linker and Player News Archive – Baseball-Reference.com
Posted by sean on October 9, 2012
Today we updated our linker software with a couple new options.
First you can now see the past news articles written for any player on Baseball-Reference.com. These come from uses of our Linker Tool, so if you are a blogger and want your articles to appear there, let us know.
News Archive: Mark Reynolds News Archive - Baseball-Reference.com.
We've got two years of history here, so even a player like Mark Reynolds has 800+ links. We also link to this archive from our player nav bars as well.
The linker software should also now recognize correctly written Spanish names. Unfortunately, it will overwrite them as anglicized names, but it's a step in the right direction.
Please let us know if you have any questions about the linker and how to add your site to our linker program.
The linker isn't working for me and others that I've talked to today. Any reason why? I bookmarked it again just to be sure and it still isn't working...just stuck on the "Allow 5-10 seconds to load" pop-up.
I'm sorry. I messed this up and it should be working now.
Looks good, thank you!
what does the gold stuff over certain stats indicate?
Can anyone tell my why certain stats are now highlighted in addition to being in bold print. For example, Koufax's ERA his final 5 seasons? Does it recognize the best in both leagues? Thanks
ERA and Batting AVG champs are given the "golden glow" now.
I'm not sure putting the "golden glow" adds anything. In fact, i think it's distracting. Why just ERA and batting titles? They already are bolded if they are a league-leader. This, to me, seems like an unnecessary addition.
The linker isn't working for me either. It gets stuck on the links loading and a message pops up saying "We apologize, but this request has failed"
BLOGGING IS DEAD....MYSPACE IS WHERE THE ACTION IS NOW
I'm having the same problem as Tyler. I've updated my script and it's not working.
I'm having the same problem as everyone else, it's just in a loop and won't link any names. I re-bookmarked it and still nothing. I'm using Blogger and Chrome. Even switched to IE and still having problems.
Ok, it seems that the issue is only when you use the "customized" one. Tried it with the default one and it worked.
None of them are working for me even if I use the default one. When I test it on the test page, it works fine.
